Algae are simple plants without true roots. For growth and reproduction, they need sunlight and nutrients which they get from their environment. Therefore, the entire range of active ingredients from the oceans is found in marine algae. Additionally, algae are able to withstand the currents of the sea and to survive with very little light.

Algae can be used for a variety of purposes. They serve as food, dietary supplements, a source of medicine and even as a renewable source of fuel (biofuel).

Algae are truly multitalented when it comes to skin care. They possess strong antioxidant properties for excellent cell protection and they protect the elastic fibres to keep the skin firm and youthful.
