Carbamide

Urea is synthesized from carbon dioxide and ammonia at high temperature and high pressure. It is not derived from an animal source.

Urea was first discovered in urine in 1729 by the Dutch Professor of Medicine and Chemistry Hermann Boerhaave. In 1828, the German chemist Friedrich Wöhler managed to synthesize urea from an inorganic substance, which effectively disproved the then-dominate theory that only organic matter could produce organic matter or organic life. Today urea is a major industrial chemical in the field of medicine and pharmacy.

Urea is a natural component of the NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) and has broad applications in medicine and cosmetics, as it is virtually free from side effects. It improves the ability of the skin to retain water and keeps the skin well hydrated.
