Bright Perfection - Cosmetic Treatment for Hyperpigmentation
Our BRIGHT PERFECTION skincare collection targets multiple forms of hyperpigmentation and reduces the appearance of discoloration with long-lasting results.
Hyperpigmentation: What causes skin discoloration?
Dark patches, melasma, uneven skin tone - everybody‘s skin is different and changes over time. While freckles or birthmarks typically appear on the skin at a young age, there are other forms of pigmentation that usually only manifest later in life. Aside from genetics, there are several different factors that can contribute to pigmentation disorders. The most common causes include sun exposure, hormonal changes (e.g. pregnancy), skin injuries or inflammation.
Hyperpigmentation is caused by a local overproduction of melanin. This dark brown to black pigment is responsible for giving skin its color. When melanin is overproduced in certain areas, it results in irregular skin coloration and dark spots, which many sufferers find to be ‘unsightly’ and a great source of insecurity. However, there are many effective in-office hyperpigmentation treatments offered by dermatologists and aestheticians, and a targeted skincare routine can help to reduce hyperpigmentation as well.
Our Key Ingredient to Treat Hyperpigmentation
These active ingredients help the skin to manage hyperpigmentation issues caused by UV rays, environmental pollution, skin aging or hormonal influences.
Marine Exopolysaccharides
With the help of two special amino acids, marine exopolysaccharides work to reduce hyperpigmentation caused by environmental pollution.
Low-Molecular Hyaluronic Acid
Low-molecular hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin and acts as a carrier for alpha-linolenic acid.
Alpha-Linolenic Acid
Alpha-linolenic acid inhibits melanin production even before hyperpigmentation appears.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide gradually brightens dark spots, age spots and acne marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation).
The active ingredients are combined with marine minerals and our unique Celumer Marine Extract, allowing a deeper absorption into the skin layers.

Pro Tips: Dark Spot Treatments
Sun protection with a high SPF is not just important to protect the skin from premature aging, it also prevents dark sun spots from forming. Our BRIGHT PERFECTION day cream contains a blend of highly effective UV filters to protect your face from the sun. However, discoloration due to sun damage can also occur on your hands or other parts of the body. That is why you should generally avoid excessive sun exposure, not least to reduce the risk of skin cancer as well.
Chemical peels with AHAs, such as glycolic acid, exfoliate hyperpigmented dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin to reveal a fresher and brighter complexion. They also stimulate collagen production, and accelerate cell turnover. Some AHA peels can easily be performed at home, but you could also book a treatment at your local aesthetician’s office to get a peel with a higher concentration of AHAs. After a chemical peel, your skin is more sensitive to the sun, so make sure to wear sunscreen every day.
Pigmentation tends to not just affect the face – your hands are exposed to pollution and harmful UV rays as well. That is why they are often very prone to discoloration and age spots. We recommend using a special hand cream with niacinamide or other whitening ingredients that can fade dark spots over time. Tip: It is advisable to use sunscreen for your hands as well.
Pigmentation spots can be improved by using targeted skincare products, but they cannot be removed instantly. There are, however, a number of cosmetic and medical treatment options available to achieve quicker results. Laser treatments are a popular option for anyone dealing with unwanted pigmentation, as well as microdermabrasion and Marine Facial treatments.
