FACIAL EXFOLIATORS

Physical, Enzymatic & Chemical Peels

If you want to maximize the effectiveness of your skincare routine, exfoliating is just as important as cleansing and moisturizing. It is the best way to deep clean your pores, remove dead skin cells and improve the efficacy of other products by enabling faster and deeper penetration. Regular exfoliation can also diminish wrinkles and visibly improve skin texture, dull skin and blemish-prone skin.

There are numerous types of exfoliants on the skincare market – developed for different skin types and needs. These include physical scrubs, enzymatic exfoliators and chemical peels such as AHA products.

How do I find the right exfoliator?

Yes, regular exfoliation is important. But what it really comes down to is finding the best exfoliator for your skin. Don’t worry, this is actually quite easy if you keep a few things in mind.

Remember that there are three main types of exfoliants: Physical exfoliants, enzyme exfoliators and chemical peels. But exfoliating products can also have different textures. Cream, gel or powder – you decide which exfoliant suits you and your skin best.

1. Enzymatic exfoliation

Enzymatic peels offer gentle exfoliation without abrasive particles. These kinds of exfoliants use enzymes to break down the proteins and lipids attached to dead skin, so they can be easily removed from the surface of the skin. Post-peel, the skin feels incredibly clean and soft.

Our non-abrasive, oil-free Enzyme Peeling is very quick and easy to use. Just pour the powder into the palm of your hand, foam it up with some lukewarm water and apply it to the face – done! The pre-portioned sachets are great for travels and on the go. This face exfoliator is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin and skin prone to rosacea. Those with oily skin can use this product without any problems as well.

2. Physical exfoliation

Mechanical or physical exfoliators are scrubs that contain tiny abrasive particles to exfoliate the skin. They not only remove dead cells, but also improve microcirculation at the same time.

Face scrub

Our gentle 2-in-1 exfoliating cream cleanses and nourishes the skin in just one step. Tiny rounded silica beads exfoliate the skin without irritating it, while the cream base pampers your skin with an extra moisturizing boost. Use the face scrub once or twice a week, massage in circular movements, then rinse off with water. This gentle cream exfoliator is particularly beneficial for dry skin.

Body Scrub

When it comes to skincare, we often focus exclusively on the face. Exfoliating peels and scrubs are no exception. The answer: Special body scrubs! They are the ultimate self-care indulgence: Really easy to use under the shower, they smell great and you can enjoy a lovely massage while getting rid of built-up old skin cells and other debris.

Sea salt is a natural exfoliant that is also rich in minerals and trace elements, but our refreshing Ginger-Sea Salt Body Scrub also infuses the skin with a nourishing blend of oils. Use once a week to keep your skin supple and soft!

3. Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliants work by removing the skin’s top layer with exfoliating chemicals like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). These acid-based facial exfoliators are well-known for their anti-aging benefits. But chemical peels are also widely used to treat acne and acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and melasma. They help to resurface the skin and reveal a smoother, healthier-looking complexion by removing dead cells that leave a dull skin tone. Chemical peels can be used on the face and many parts of the body.

Chemical exfoliator gel

Our 20% AHA Peeling is a chemical peel that you can safely use at home. A blend of mild α-hydroxy acids exfoliates the skin, boosts collagen production and helps to treat a variety of skin concerns, like acne scars, blackheads, fine lines and wrinkles.

Tip: We suggest using this chemical exfoliant once a week as part of your regular routine. However, for an intensive short-term treatment, you can also use it up to 2-3 times a week for a month.

AHA pads

Our AHA exfoliating pads are designed for daily use, thanks to a very mild formulation of glycolic acid, lactic acid and citric acid. They gently remove dead skin cells, moisturize, de-clog pores and leave the skin with a natural glow. This incredibly gentle acid peel is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

If you have blemish-prone or acne-prone skin and are looking for quicker and even more effective results, we recommend that you book an in-office treatment with your local esthetician who can perform a chemical peel with a higher concentration of acids.

Extremely important: After a chemical peel, it is imperative to use broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF to avoid sun damage. Even under your make-up.
